It has been a few weeks (I think) since I have written a blog post. It is basically due to a lack of interesting things to write about and laziness/busyness (depending on how you look at it). Here are a few upcoming events.
Marley documentary premiere
The premiere of a new Marley documentary Marley: The Definitive Story will be held at Emancipation Park at 7 p. m. today evening 19 April 2012. Gates open at 5 p. m. I am not quite sure why the gates are being opened at 5 since the Park is generally open anyway, unless it will be closed tomorrow.
EFJ Earth Day Expo
Happens on 20 April 2012 at the Hope Zoo.
Steamy Poems at Studio 38
Dynamic Event Services will be hosting a Pre-Kingston Pon Di River Literary Arts & Music Festival event at Studio 38 on Friday, 27 April 2012 from 6/8 p. m. to midnight. It will feature Shelly-Ann Weeks, Tanya Shirley, Rosie Murray and Tomlin Ellis.
Calabash is back (me doing happy dance) and I am so excited. It will be as usual the last weekend in May which is the 25 – 27 at Jakes in Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth. I had the pleasure of seeing No-Maddz for the first time a few weeks ago and will have the pleasure of seeing them at Calabash too. Two books will be launched at Calabash this year and while I have not read most of the authors who will be reading; Calabash never disappoints and from the little research I have done I have some “must listens” already. So, if you have not already booked a room, what are you waiting for?
